Yoga Pose: Open Your Hips to Improve Balance and Mobility

In the pursuit of physical well-being, balance and mobility stand as pillars of overall health.

The hips play a crucial role in movement and stability, and incorporating yoga poses that focus on opening the hips can significantly enhance balance and mobility.

Pigeon Pose, known as "Eka Pada Rajakapotasana" in Sanskrit, is a deep hip opener that stretches the hip flexors, groin, and gluteal muscles.

This pose offers a myriad of benefits beyond mere flexibility, including improved balance, increased mobility, and relief from tension and stress.

Pigeon Pose begins in a tabletop position, with the hands under the shoulders and knees under the hips.

The right knee is brought forward towards the right wrist, while the right foot moves towards the left side of the mat.

The torso can then be lowered over the front leg, either resting on the forearms or extending fully.
